It's Mid November, and the week that the SF Salsa Congresss rolls into town - more on that later, but let's cover local events:
Tuesday Night - a special Pre-Congress night at the Glas Kat. Should be fun - Quimbombo is playing and they're always great. This Wednesday, its "Tribute to the Conga" at the DownLow Lounge, with an exciting night of Conga Tribute backed by an All Star band of hte Bay Area's Top Players! Thursday, it's grand opening night for the Congress at Cafe Cocomo in SF, and in the East Bay Avance plays at Kimballs! Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Congress rolls in, at the Oakland Marriott Hotel, with some stellar live bands each night, including Oscar De Leon and Jose Alberto. My haunts as of late have Los Compos at the Cigar Bar (dangerous floor for dancing, but super fun place to "be"), and Julio Bravo at Cafe Cocomo.
Wow - big weekend eh? Yes it is - it's a big week and weekend, with all the variety that the Bay Area is known for. Great Headlining acts, and fantastic smaller clubs, all come together to give everyone some fantastic dance possibilities! Choose wisely . . . :)
Now, don't forget the Canvas Salsa Dance Party is coming back on December 3rd, and it's coming up in just 3 weeks. You'll want to plan on it! Special SalsaCrazy Holiday gifts for the first 200 people. :) Remember, no experience and no partner required for the Beginning Lesson at 8pm. Invite your friends, it's for everybody!
Check out, Salsa Dance San Francisco, another directory site that popped up, like Salsuba.com. Hmm - I wonder where are this information comes from? ;)
